Our History
The ministry started in Jabal Amman in 2000. When Pastor Ghassan N. Haddad came to pastor a local church (FEC) in Jabal Amman.
In 2004 the local church (FEC) asked Pastor Ghassan N. Haddad to resign from his pastoral ministry because they said that he has an Independent, Bible-believing faith and standards. In December 2004 with the first meeting in Pastor Haddad home in Jabal Amman. The New Testament Church of Amman established as the first Independent Baptist church in Jordan ever.
This step was taken by stand of Pastor Ghassan N. Haddad, his Assistant Pastor Matthew A. Barfield with the blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ and the approval of the local church. The church was founded by eight members and the Lord blesses us that we grow from eight to almost more than fifty members, but because of difficult situations that the ministry passed by our the membership came down to fourteen members and about twenty two as attendance.
We also praise Him that in 2005 we have also another preacher who was sent from our church to help in planting a church of Al-giza, Egypt. In January 2006, we moved to our new location in Jabal Amman, Rainbow Street. In this year Pastor Matthew Barfield has to return to the States because of Medical reasons.
In the year 2014 the church voted to change the name to Faith Independent Baptist Church of Amman, and in the year 2015 the church voted to accept the first national Jordanian pastor in her history, and Pastor Ayser Mazahreh became the Senior Pastor in the Mid. of that year.
From 2015 Pastor Ghassan Haddad became the Co-Pastor of the church as he assist Pastor Ayser in the ministry. In March 1, 2020 Pastor Ayser resigned from the Pastoral ministry, and Pastor Ghassan Haddad became the Senior Pastor.
It was also a great privilege for Faith Independent Church of Amman to continue in the same Biblical positions of the pioneer of the most Evangelical work in Jordan “Rev. Roy Witman” who was the first fundamental Bible preacher in Jordan. This man's standard was only the Bible, and we do also.
